SOLAR ECLIPSES
Like many amateur astronomers, I have found joy in traveling to and observing Total Solar Eclipses. This phenomenon is one of the most spectacular natural events anyone can see in their lifetime. The first question often asked after having seen one is “when is the next one?”
I have been fortunate to have travelled to and seen 21 Total Solar Eclipses. In addition, I have been to five Annual Solar Eclipses. Only one Annular Solar Eclipse has been lost to clouds.
Since 1979, I have been able to see 21 Total Solar Eclipses, four Annular Solar Eclipses, and six partial eclipses.
In addition I have been able to observe 19 Total Lunar Eclipses and both Transits of Venus in my lifetime.
